отношение Eb/N0
Показатель помехоустойчивости канала связи, равный отношению энергии сигнала, приходящейся на один бит Eb (Дж/бит) к спектральной плотности шума N0 (Вт/Гц). Отношение Eb/N0 является безразмерной величиной, в чем нетрудно убедиться, если заменить 1 Дж на 1 Вт·с, а 1 Гц на 1 цикл/с.

11 energy per bit (Eb) /spectral noise density (No).
отношение битовой энергии к плотности спектрального шума
Определяет коэффициент сигнал/шум в цифровых коммуникационных системах и служит основным показателем качества сигнала. Различные формы модуляции (BPSK, QPSK, QAM) имеют разные теоретические функции зависимости уровня битовых ошибок BER от Eb/No. Пользуясь этими функциями можно рассчитать пропускную способность линии связи при заданном уровне BER. Также значение Eb/No позволяет вычислить отношение мощности сигнала к мощности шума на входе приемника C/N - carrier-to-noise или CNR - carrier-to-noise ratio.
